Our Pediatrics Department is committed to the health of the children and adolescents of Thomas E. Langley Medical Center. We are staffed with a Pediatric Endocrinologist, a Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C), and an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP). The department provides high quality comprehensive pediatric care; services include well baby care, immunizations, physicals (day care, school, sports, etc.), vision/hearing screenings, growth and development tracking, and fluoride varnishing. Risk and safety assessments and rapid response to acute care needs are provided. Access to care for sick children is available the same day or within 24 hours.
As part of the National Health Disparities Collaborative, pediatric asthma and childhood obesity are managed through chronic care clinics that integrate patient visits with the Pediatrician and the health educator. New and updated programs that meet the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines are consistently reviewed for implementation.
Endocrinology is a division of medicine that deals primarily with hormones in the body. Hormones are chemicals which act as signals to control activities of the body. Our new Pediatric Endocrinology Program is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for diabetes, childhood obesity, growth disorders, early or delayed puberty, thyroid disorders, pituitary and adrenal dysfunction, and other endocrinopathies.
